What are SCC/ESC/BS?
Summer City Camp
The Summer City Camp (SCC) is organized by the “Associazione Culturale Alice in Città” in primary schools during the summer vacations in June and gives children the opportunity to learn English from mother-tongue tutors.
Our association has been responsible for the organization of summer camps since 2010, not only in Italian cities but also in Spain.
The Summer City Camp’s daily schedule includes the following activities:
- English lessons wich include games, songs, poems and storytelling
- Workshops where children learn through arts and crafts, music, writing and other creative activities
- Sport and mini-tournaments targeted at children of different ages
- Preparation for a final show including drama, making scenery and costumes, learning songs and dances
- School trips: during the camp one or two school trips (to the swimming pool or other sport centers, children’s museums or parks…) are organized.
Children attend the Summer City Camp monday to friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The working day for the tutors and the Italian staff is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., including breaks and a daily staff meeting.

English Summer Camp
The English Summer Camp (ESC) is organized in secondary schools (pupils from 11 to 14 years old) during the summer vacation in July and gives teenagers the opportunity to learn and improve their English.
This camp is organized by Alice in Città with the contribution of the Milan’s Town Council.
The English Summer Camp’s daily schedule includes various activities, including:
- English classes, where children learn through role-plays, creative writing (interviews, scripts, self made magazines, reviews), quizzes and songs
- Workshops, where children learn through arts and crafts, music an other creative activies, or through the use of technology, making videoclips or recording programs for a web radio
- Sport activities, including mini-tournaments and the discovery of the anglo-saxon countries’ sports
- Cinema labs, where the children watch films in English and debate and discuss them
- School trips: during the camp one or two school trips (to the swimming pool or to other sport centers, children’s museums or parks…) are organized
Children attend the English Summer Camp monday to friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The working day for the tutors and the Italian staff is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including breaks and a daily staff meeting.
Beautiful Settembre
Beautiful Settembre (BS) is organized in primary schools during the summer vacation in September, before the school year starts.
In this camp there is only one English mother-tongue tutor who works in collaboration with the Italian educators.
Beautiful Settembre is organized by Alice in Città with the contribution of the Milan’s Town Council.
Children attend Beautiful Settembre monday to friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The working day for the tutors and the Italian staff is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including breaks and a daily staff meeting.
